Here are the steps to replacing your lost, stolen, or non-functional UCSD student ID card.
NOTICE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Campus Cards Office will remain closed until further notice. Please contact our office via the Services and Support Portal if you need to replace your ID card. Please note that the Campus Cards Office cannot mail out ID cards.
Students must surrender their damaged/invalid ID card in order to receive a replacement ID card. The cost to replace a damaged ID card is $21.00.
Contact the Campus Card Office by phone (858) 534-6606, e-mail , or by visiting the office ( map ) to see if the card was turned in. Please note that if mailed, it may take 1 week to arrive at our office. The Campus Cards Office will also contact you via your UCSD email if your ID card is turned in at our office.
File a campus police report and get a copy of the report or the case number.

Visit your Residence Life office to get your ID card re-coded for access to your living space.
If you have access to any buildings on campus, you will need to re-request access to those buildings. Contact the person who provided the access previously or that building's administrator.
You can suspend your account online or by calling Triton Card Accounts Services, (858) 534-7587, until you are able to replace your student ID card. Note: Be sure to report a lost or stolen Campus Card immediately. You are responsible for purchases if someone uses your card before you freeze your account.
If you have Dining Dollars or a Triton Cash account, you can get a temporary dining card that's valid for 1 week. Call Triton Card Accounts Services, (858) 534-7587, for more information. You can also request a temporary card from your hall's residence life office to access your living space that is valid for 1 week. Contact your residence hall for more information
If getting a new or replacement card, you can take a new picture at no additional expense.
If this is your first card, it's free! If not, the Campus Cards Office will charge the amount to your Student Account.
Visit your Residence Life office to get your card re-coded for access to your room.

Please turn it into the Campus Cards Office as soon as possible.
You can file a Request for Name Change (PDF) with the Registrar's Office.
- After 10 business days, visit the Campus Card Office, pay the $21.00 replacement fee (map) to get a new ID Card.
Note: The $21.00 replacement fee applies to any student who voluntarily changes their name. If the Registrar's Office inputs your name(s) incorrectly into the system, you can receive a replacement ID card at no cost.
