Triton Registration Installment Plan

What is TRIP?

The Triton Registration Installment Plan allows you to pay your mandatory tuition and registration fees in three monthly installments rather than in one lump sum payment.

To take full advantage of the benefits of this program, it is best to apply before the first billing due date of each quarter. However, you can still enroll until the second billing due date of the quarter.

There is a $40 fee to enroll in TRIP each quarter (prices may vary for Summer Session). This fee is due up front when enrolling in TRIP. 

Please Note:

- TRIP does not cover housing fees and enrollment is only open to students with qualified fees.  Information related to housing installments and payments can be found on the Housing Rates and Services page.
- Adjustments to financial aid can cause recalculations in your TRIP installment amounts. TRIP enrollment should occur once all your financial aid for the quarter has been disbursed. 

Enroll in TRIP and conveniently pay your monthly installments through the new TritonPay. Please ensure you mark your calendar with the due dates for each installment payment.

Enrollment Options

TRIP is offered for FALL, WINTER, SPRING, and SUMMER quarters. You must enroll in TRIP each quarter on the new TritonPay


  • Students who receive grants and/or scholarships that cover their entire tuition/registration fees are NOT eligible to enroll in TRIP (such as Cal Grant recipients, Jacobs scholars, and certain CASP and Regents scholars, etc.)
  • TRIP enrollment should be done after all classes have been finalized. Adding/Dropping classes after enrolling in TRIP can cause volatility in the TRIP installment amounts.
  • You must be enrolled and have no holds to use TRIP to make payments.
  • The non-refundable enrollment fee of $40 is due up front each quarter when enrolling in TRIP (prices may vary for Summer Session).
  • For students who enroll in TRIP after the first billing due date of the quarter, the $40 enrollment fee AND the first installment amount is due at time of enrollment.

For Summer Session, there are four different payment plans available:

Late Payment Penalties

If you miss a due date, you can incur the following penalties:

  • Cancellation from your classes
  • A hold on your account
